Whenever a purchase order is created by the Materials Management (MM) team and sent to the vendor, the vendor supplies goods against the purchase order. If the relevant settings are maintained in the material master, the received goods are routed to Quality Inspection. This process ensures that the procured materials meet the required quality standards before they are accepted into inventory. Based on the inspection results, a vendor score or rating may be assigned as part of the vendor evaluation process.
Steps to achieve this:
1. Create a purchase order specifying the quantity of the goods, net price, delivery date, plant, storage location, supplier, purchasing org, purchase group, company code and other details using ME21N transaction.
2. Once the vendor receives the purchase order, the required goods are dispatched. To record the receipt of these goods in the system, a Goods Receipt (GR) must be performed. This can be achieved using tcode MIGO and the movement type is 101. Here the GR is performed against the purchase order created.
3. Once the GR is performed, the received goods sits in the Quality Inspection stock if the required settings are made in the material master like activating the necessary inspection types and checking the field 'Post to Inspection Stock'.
4.
The inspection plan is already assigned to the inspection lot, as the 'Automatic Assignment' option has been enabled. Additionally, the inspection is carried out with reference to a task list, since the 'Inspection with Task List' indicator is also selected in the material master
5. Since the status of the inspection lot is 'Released' as the inspection plan is assigned, the results can be recorded for the lot and the Usage Decision can be made.
6. The Usage Decision determines to which stock type the stock should move. Every UD code will be associated with stock posting proposal based on which the stock will be transferred from QI after the inspection is performed. The users can also perform partial stock postings in the UD screen itself based on the decision made by the inspector
